Dick Orth, BCI Vice President NSWC CARDEROCK, at the American Society of Naval Engineers Smart Ship Symposium IV, held in Philadelphia on April 2nd and April 3rd, 2001 .
Programs, greeted Pat Woody, NAVSEA, Philadelphia (NAVSSES) Code91 Department Head, at the BCI booth. This semi-annual symposium was attended by over five hundred civilian and military personnel and focused on the continuation of advancements in naval ship automation. Over thirty-five technical papers were presented and fifty exhibitors displayed their capabilities.
Pat Woody's department is responsible for Programs and Platforms, and BCI is a contractor to NAVSSES in support of combat systems support equipment. Having been awarded a contract in June of 1999, the project has grown to employ forty personnel in seven locations nationwide with a contract ceiling of $8.2 million. An AEGIS Excellence Award was presented to BCI on April 5th by PEO TSC in recognition of the company's outstanding achievement in support of the surface combatant fleet.
