On July 14th, 1999 Basic Commerce and Industries (BCI) announced the receipt of a Federal Aviation Administration contract to support several tasks within the William J. Hughes Technical Center Weather Branch. The contract will provide 5 years of support in the Engineering, Development and Test areas of legacy systems and new acquisitions. These areas of support will include Weather Radars, Sensors, and Systems, and their respective communications infrastructure.
BCI will provide the Weather Branch with System and Communication Engineering, Test Tool and Simulator Development, Quality Assurance of Development Testing and Operational Test Conduct for programs such as the Integrated Terminal Weather System (ITWS) and the Weather and Radar Processor (WARP).
Personnel will develop an integrated laboratory to comprehensively test systems within a model of the National Airspace Environment. Tasking will migrate into areas of integrated Networking, Computer Security, Weather Algorithm Development and Test, Software Development, and all activities required by the FAA System Acquisition Management System.
